Matic contributed to the delivery of Sports Tours International’s new UK head office in Warrington, working alongside Domis Group partners Domis Construction, Casana, NOVO and Domis Utilities to transform a shell space into a premium workplace.
Designed by Studio Power, the completed fit-out reflects the energy, professionalism and sporting heritage behind Europe’s number one tour operator for runners and cyclists. With Sports Tours regularly welcoming professional athletes and visitors into the space, the building services installation needed to support both the practical requirements of a modern working environment and the overall look and feel of a distinctive brand-led interior.
Our works formed part of a comprehensive mechanical, electrical and public health installation delivered across the refurbished office, gym, studio and supporting amenity spaces.
The completed scheme provides a modern and fully serviced commercial environment tailored to the day-to-day needs of Sports Tours and its visitors. Across office, wellness and communal areas, the building services were coordinated to support a high-functioning workplace while integrating cleanly within the wider interior design.
The electrical and lighting installation included new distribution boards, containment, power supplies and modern LED lighting throughout. Recessed downlights, linear lighting, emergency lighting and exit signage were installed across the space, while feature LED lighting set within plaster-in aluminium profiles helped achieve a clean architectural finish in key areas.
Power installations were delivered throughout the office and gym spaces, including socket outlets, isolators, floor boxes and bench trunking systems, with dedicated supplies provided for equipment and specialist services where required.
Matic delivered a full upgrade to the mechanical, electrical and public health services throughout the building as part of the wider refurbishment.
Public health works included upgrades to the building’s drainage and domestic water systems, with new containment, pipework and sanitary installations incorporated throughout. The scope also included DDA-compliant facilities, a new first floor WC, washing machine provision, upgraded kitchen services, a hot water cylinder, booster tank and full system chlorination to support compliance and water hygiene.
Heating, cooling and ventilation systems were also comprehensively upgraded. This included repositioning existing fan coil units at ground floor level, installing new ducted fan coils to the ground floor studio and introducing a ducted twin split system to serve the gym. Existing first floor systems were retained where suitable, with outdated cassette systems replaced by modern ducted solutions.
New ventilation systems were installed complete with DW144-compliant ductwork, volume control dampers, fire and smoke dampers, flexible connections and heat recovery units, all coordinated in line with approved drawings and wider project requirements.
A key part of the project was delivering building services that supported the more specialist elements of the Sports Tours workplace, particularly the gym, studio and visitor-facing spaces.
These areas required services that could meet practical performance demands while sitting comfortably within a high-quality interior environment. The gym was served by a dedicated high-capacity ducted twin split system, while the ground floor studio benefited from new ducted fan coil installations to support comfort and usability.
Lighting and power provisions were also coordinated to suit the varied nature of the internal spaces, ensuring that the office could function equally well as a workplace, a visitor environment and a brand-led destination aligned with Sports Tours’ identity.
Alongside the core MEP installation, Matic delivered a range of fire, safety and security elements to support compliance, protection and day-to-day operation of the building through Safety Systems, Matic’s in-house fire and security delivery.
This included fire alarm additions and relocations, access control and intercom systems, CCTV, intruder alarm systems, disabled refuge systems and audio-visual infrastructure. Lighting controls were also integrated as part of the wider installation.
Together, these systems contribute to a completed workplace environment that is safe, compliant and suited to the operational needs of a modern commercial occupier.
