Serving thousands of young people across Salford, the Youth Zone offers a wide range of activities, support services and opportunities that promote wellbeing, creativity and personal development. Developed in partnership with the local community and key stakeholders, the facility plays a vital role in empowering young people, strengthening social connection, and supporting positive futures for the next generation.
The works carried out comprised a comprehensive mechanical and electrical services installation. Mechanical works included above-ground drainage, natural gas systems serving the sports hall heating, LPHW heating, comfort cooling, ventilation systems incorporating wind catchers, domestic hot and cold water services including sanitaryware, BMS installation, thermal insulation, and heating system water treatment, together with full testing and commissioning. Electrical works included LV distribution, sub-mains, containment, internal and external lighting and power, public address systems, data and IT infrastructure, security systems, door access controls, CCTV installation with off-site monitoring, fire detection, mechanical wiring, earthing and bonding, lightning protection, photovoltaic array installation, disabled refuge systems, and induction loops.
